I believe that art can move people to compassionate reflection on how we treat each other and our planet.
Duncan is a mixed media artist and communications media professional. Originally from Ohio, he graduated from Antioch College in Yellow Springs, concentrating on video and community television production. In San Francisco, he earned a master’s degree in educational technology at San Francisco State University focused on interactive multimedia and user interface design. In San Francisco, he was active with Act-UP, Queer Nation, GLAAD, and CUAV. Based now in Seattle, he makes his living as a web producer by day and is developing his studio practice as an artist.
Using multidimensional mixed media painting, I work with mythology as a source of imagery and narrative to get free of contemporary mass media rhetoric. My interest extends beyond making objects to community activism and social change.
