Lenny Zenith was a seminal New Orleans experimental power- pop / new-wave artist performing in New Orleans, LA in his 20s. Lenny Zenith started RZA just out of High school and quickly became a staple on the burgeoning New Orleans, punk-pop, new-wave scene, noted for innovated shows with added performative elements. Lenny’s vocal style and writing were equally influenced by artists as diverse as Leigh ‘Little Queenie’ Harris, James Booker, Elvis Costello, and the Sex Pistols.
Lenny Zenith and RZA opened for artists as diverse as XTC, Ian Hunter, Ultravox, X , Michelle Shocked, Gun Club, Little Steven, Aztec Camera, Iggy Pop and ultimately U2 on the USS President. Lenny has continued to perform in NYC w/ Jenifer Convertible during the mid/late 90s.
His latest band, Tenterhooks, has just released their debut EP on Sugarblast Music Co. with a portion of all proceeds benefiting TLDEF (Transgender Legal and education Fund).
