About the Tour: In Spring 2010, Trans-Genre released Trans-Fusion II, a CD compilation featuring a collection of 25 transgender musicians, poets, and visual artists, including Josh Klipp, Shawna Virago, Dylan Scholinski, and Athens Boys Choir to name a few, as well as emerging trans artists that will leave you craving more. To commemorate the release, the Trans Fusion National Tour seeks to connect with artist, activist, and LGBTQ communities across the country, expand perceptions of trans experience, and celebrate the eclectic world of transgender art.
Bringing Trans-Genre to the stage, Modern Day Pinnochio (a.k.a. AJ Bryce) and Geppetta (plus special guests!) share individual and collaborative work, that spans original music, spoken word, video, dance, puppet theater, and visual art. Additionally, the artists/ organizers offer interactive workshops on trans activism and social justice, including Trans Issues 101, Transgender Art and Activism and Trans & Racial Identity, among others (see press kit for descriptions).
